A l8 start

<Edit>I shortened this</Edit>

Well the very first posting was due in January 1st, and was to continue every day, or rather, almost every day. Whoops, only a month behind on that goal, but never fear, for I have been active regardless of blogging, so let me begin with the intro.

My little history:
In high school I was in decent shape.
In college I started to run and was in great shape, then I blew out my knees.
Since then I've been slowly trying to get healthy. I ended up twisting my ankle, in January 2010, while diving for a volleyball and landing on it, which didn't hurt right away. I then played on it for 3 weeks before seeing a doctor. Doctor gave me a brace and told me not to play volleyball or any sport that required side-to-side movement for a while. (I was giving myself a year).

Fast forward to October 2010, and I re-injured it via one of my dance teachers forcing the foot to point (you see I've lost some motion in my ankle, mostly in the "up/down" motion). The re-injury knocked me out of workout until I went to get PT and X-rays. X-rays came back negative, but after seeing an ankle specialist, it was determined I have massive scar tissue, hence the pain from the swelling. I was told the injury would take at least 1 year to get back to somewhat normal, and at least 3-5 for full normalness. Although, full normal motion may never return.

So fast forward to December 2010, I went home for Xmas and my Mom made a comment about my weight. I hit the gym as soon as I got back. The first day, I managed to only sweat out 20 minutes on the bike and cross trainer (slowly) and some lifting, though light. I was exhausted, but it was great to work out again. I've been hitting the gym, or a dance class, or just plain moving for at least 60 minutes each day, ever since.

The point of this small place on the interwebs is to track my success to drop about 30lbs. Yes, this is a blog about someone losing weight, so if you're not into that, please move on. I don't expect followers, but if I get some, great!

The goal, of this three-normal-limb and one-injured-limb gym rat, is to drop 30 lbs by the end of 2011. Hence the name of the blog: triped (three leg) and 3x10=30. Thus the beginning of my journey. I hope to write, and video my results to getting back to my healthy weight of high school, with its healthy BMI.

Only 1 month l8. Stats will be coming.
